MONT BLANC TUNNEL.
NEW RAILWAY SCHEME. FRANCE TO ITALY DIRECT. A. and N.Z. GENEVA, April 12. A scheme for tunnelling through Mont Blanc has been decided upon, thus uniting France and Italy directly. The project involves building fifteen tunnels and fourteen bridges, the longest tunnel being fourteen kilometres (nearly nine miles). The route leaves La Chamonix, in Prance, and descends toward Aosta, Piedmont, Italy, which will be an international station. It is, expected that the Sroxk will occupy five years..
