AUCKLAND CARNIVAL CHOIR.

THE FIRST REHEARSAL HELD. The first rehearsal of the amalgamated choirs for the Auckland Summer Carnival massed choir performance was held in the Town Hall concert chamber on Saturday evening, under the baton of Mr. Colin Muston. Artistically the work was excellent, and the choir was well balanced, but the attendance was considered disappointing. There were about 170 performers present, whereas, it had been hoped to have a choir of at least 500 voices. All members of choral societies, choirs, and other singers were invited. Another rehearsal will be held next Saturday.
