AUCKLAND ARTILLERY'S SUCCESS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Saturday. The North Island band contest was concluded to-day. Results:— Quickstep.A Grade: Auckland Artillery, 275$ points; Queen Alexandra, Wanganui, 275; Palmerston North, 273£; Dannevirke, 273; Auckland City, 266 i; Wellington Artillery, 263; Woolston, 262£. B Grade: New Plymouth, 2613; Wellington Battalion, 246*. The Besson Shield for aggregate marks in two tests and one-fifth music points in the quickstep was won by Woolston, with Auckland Artillery second, and Queen Alexandra third. The Hawke's Shield for aggregate points in two tests and quickstep competition, including drill, was won by Auckland Artillery, with Queen Alexandra second, and Palmerston third. \ ..
