ENGAGED ONCE MORE.
CHAPLIN AND POLA NEGRI. A. and N.Z. LOS ANGELES, March 2. After a 24 hours' break in their romance, Pola Negri and Charlie Chaplin are once more engaged, and plans are now being made for an early wedding. Pola Negri explained that her announcement about the breach was made after she had read a statement which credited Chaplin with saying that he was too poor to marry. When the comedian learned of his fiancee's action he hastened to her home and spent hours in protesting that he had been misquoted, and that he loved her devotedly. The result was that Pola Negri announced this morning that they were re-engaged.
