HAMILTON STOCK SALES.
The New' Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, Hamilton, report:At Frankton yards on Tuesday there was a medium entry of sheep, of which our entry totalled 470, and all were sold under brisk competition at firmer rates. The beef rtens were well filled, but the qiicl'tv '"l'th few exceptions was inferior, and values here were easier than last week. Store cn*t'e were well represented, but met with little inquiry. We quote: Fat steers £6 17n 6d to £7 17s 6d, light-weights £6 10s Jo £6 12s 6d: fat cows £4 to £4 6s: 21-year-old steers £3 12s to £3 17s 6d: 2-year-old Jerseycrnss heifers. R.W.8.. £5 10s; Shorthorn heifers, R.W.8.. £8 7s fid; Jersey weaner heifers £2 7s fid to £2 15b; fat' ewes £1 5s M to £1 6s 9d; fat wethers £1 9s 9d to £1 12s: 2-tooth wethers £ 6s 6d; store lambs 12s 8d to 15s 3d; small lambs 9s 2d to 10s lOd: 4-tooth to f.m. ewes in low condition £1 0s fid to £1 2s. A good yarding of both fat and store pigs came forward, and both classes met with good competition. Sheen and pigs were In brisk demand, but cattle in general . were easier. The beef penned was mostly of _ plain, quality, and competition lacked . spirit. Steerß made to £6 178 fid for medium-weights; cows to £6 7s; medium-weights, £4 to £5 ss; lighterweights. £3 to £3 15s. Very forward steers sold from £5 12s 6d to £6 2s. Store cattle were also duller than 'at recent' sales, though sellers showed a disposition to sell. Store steers made from £4 6s to £5 9s ; 2year steers, £3 to £3 17s; store cows, 30s: bulls to £4. Competition for sheep was lively throughout, recent values being fully maintained. Not many fats were penned. Wethers sold to 31s 6d for medium quality; lambs. 24s fid to 30s. , A line of very good rape lambs made to 225; others from 18s fid. A draft of m. ewes from West Coast rather low in condition, sold under strong competition at 255. Pigs were again penned in large numbers, hoavy baconers and good porkers easil v maintaining the rates of late markets.. while slips and weaners showed a slight incline. An extra good pen of heavy baconers made £3 I6s: others, £3 8s to £3 14«: medium, £2 18s to £3 6s; lighter and unfinished, £2 10s to £2 15s; good porkers, £2 8s to £2 15s; medium. £2*Js to £2 ,7»; small and unfinished. 36s to £2 2s; slips, 20s to 23s 6d; small. 16s to 19s; best weaners, lis to 13s; others, 8s to 10s.
