THEFTS BY YOUNG LAD.
FIVE YEARS' PROBATION.
SUPKEME COURT SENTENCE.
A lad of 16. who had pleaded guilty to two charges of breaking, entering, and theft, came before Mr. Justice Stringer in tho Supreme Court yesterday for sentence. The young offender broke into the dwelling of Stanley Rogers, at Manurewa and stole clothing, valued at £5 los, and subsequently entered Sir Fr&denc Lang f dwelling at Royal Oak, and stole clothing and other articles, valued at £8 15s, the property of George Bailey. The latter, who was employed by Sir Frederic Lang, stated in the lower Court, that ho met accused in search of work the previous day, and gave him a bed for the night and a breakfast in the morning. His Honor admitted the youth to five years' probation.
