DELIGHT OP THE INMATES. [BZ TELEGRAPH.--OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CH3USTCHITBCH. Monday. Some time ago someone interested in the welfare of the inmates of the leper station at Quail Island conceived the happy idea that in order to create a little competition and divert their thoughts from their affliction a flower show might be held on the island annually. The ides, was taken up by the patients enthusiastically, and each wns given a number of plants to oultivate. The flower sliow took place on Saturday afternoon. Visitors attended from Christchnrch and Lyttelton, and there was a good deal of excitement among the competitors.
