THE SEA DEVIL' AGAIN. VON LUCKNER WRITES A BOOK. Captain Count Felix von Luckner, the German naval officer whose exploits in the Seeadler, his capture, detention at Motuihi, and his ultimate escape and re-capture are well remembered, has written a book. A New Zealander, while in Germany, obtained la, copy, and an amazing document it is. The'book has been translated, and will bo published in weekly parts in the Now Zealand Observer. It is typically bombastic and sabre rattling, but written as it is by a highly educated, most observant and clever man, it is extremely fascinating. It is all the more alluring to New Zoalanders a* it deals in a brutally frank way with New Zealand personalities, and is" not devoid of a peculiar sense of humour. How much of the book deals with fact, and how much is the expression of the pirate's fertile imagination tha publishers do noi know. It is copiously illustrated with photos not hitherto seen in New Zealand —■taken by the pirate or his subordinates with their own cameras or those they borrowed. The book is a fine exposition of the Hun point of view, his peculiar humour, his wonderful "cheek," his incredible bombast. The Observer will publish this highly sensational and exclusive narrative in weekly portions. You ehouid be sure of getting the who!# story by becoming a subscribe? now*. >■ <
