COST OF ERECTING DIPS. [BY TELEGRAM. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA. Wednesday. The cattle tick question claimed attention at the last meeting of the Tauranga County Council when a letter was read from Mr. W. Young, county clerk, Opotiki. as follows:—"I am directed by my council to invite the co-operation and support of your council in urging the Government* to make the cost of erecting cattle dips to deal with cattle ticks charge on the Consolidated Fund. As the spread of this pest threatens the whole of tne cattle trade of the Dominion it ought to. be treated as a national question, and one small section of the community should not be financially taxed to protect other sections of the community whose district;! are not affected." ■-~.' The Tauranga council unanimously agreed to support the request.
