WAIKATO STOCK SALE.

The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Ltd.. Hamilton, report aa follows on stock sales held in the Waikato:— The advance in beef has resulted in much better yardings, but values have»been well sustained. Ox beef ia selling at from 21s to 25s per 1001b. according to quality; cow beef from 18a tc 20s. Mutton is subject to slight fluctuations, although well-fatted lines always meet with ready sale. For store cattle the market has advanced and again steadied. Grown steers are, however, in good demand. Younger steers also »ro steady', but not plentiful. Heifers, on the other hand, havo suffered a sharp decline, though in the depressed state of ■ the "springer" market this i« scarcely to be wondered at. Fancy has. turned largely to Holstein heifers, for which there is an unsatisfied demand. There is a steady demand for all classes of store sheep, hoggets especially being in strong favour. The dairy cattle market generally ia over-stocked and exceedingly depressed. Good cattle at profit stiJ draw fair competition, but the average dairy beast is little sought after. The pig market in all branches is improvine steadily, only chort supplies being obtainable. There is a good demand for draught horses of all classes. Hacks are not much sought after.
