NEW BANK RATE.
.♦- STIMULATING EFFECT. GILT EDGED STOCKS RECOVER. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 5.45 p.m.) LONDON. June 16. The reduction of the bank rate has had a stimulating effect on the Stock Exchange, especially on gilt edged stocks, which have recovered all round. Consols are quoted at £56, as agamst £54 17s yesterday.
