In Government etocka War j Loans, 1939, changed hands at £92 2s 6d. ; Other loan issues were inquired for at ; firm rates, but holders showed no inclina- > tion to sell. In banks New Zcalands sold at 525, moro being asked for at 51s 6d, j sellers 52s 3d. For Nationals buyers offered £5 ISs, sellers asking £6 2s. In insurances New Zealands had sale at 295, , sellers closing at 29a 3d, buyers at 28s 9d. ' South British wero done at 34s 3d, lato sellers 355, buyers 33s 9d. In gas Aucklands {paid up) sold at 21s 9d. In shipping Huddart-Parkors (ord) changed hands at 45s 9d, and P. and O. (deferred stock) at £321. In muxellaneous lines business was done in Milne and Chojroo {debenture stock) and Wilsons Cements. g mining Waihis sold at 21s more being looked for at that price, sellers 21s 3d.
