TAURANGA NEWS.
[by telegraph.— correspondent.] ' TAURANGA, Tuesday. The Rev. A. Mitchell, scout commissioner, visited' Tauranga : yesterday. He met the scout council and addressed a meeting of the public in the Opera House. Mr. Bernard Sladden, of Tauranga, has been reappointed to be a member of the Auckland Land Board. , The local bow ling season closed on Saturday last, much earlier than in previous seasons, to afford an opportunity of putting the green in thorough order for next season. The Hospital Board met yesterday, and inspected various sites offered for the now hospital buildings. Fifteen offers of properties were received. , No decision was reached, and the board is now in communication with the Health Department on the subject. The Tauranga. Cricket Club have brought their season to a close. Taken on the whole, the season was a successful one, six matches being played, four won, and two lost. The team gained the Attril Cup with three wins and one loss.
