MOUNT ALBERT BOROUGH COUNCIL I The Mount Albert Borough Council m*>t last evening, the Mayor, Mr. A. F. Bennett, ! presid.ng. There were also present: — Messrj. R. J. Allingham, R. H. Armstrong, E. &. Inwood. A. J. Jenkin, A. M. Wilaon,- L. E. RhodesLeave of absence for three months was granted to Mr. H. A. Males, owing to ill- . ness. Tho Auckland Electric Power Board's rei quest to erect a foiro-concreto bridge across j Motion's Creek, Archhill Gully, was acceded to, subject to certain conditions regarding the cutting up ot footpath. A letter irom tue Power xioard regard.ng the reticulat.on ot tho borough was received. A .eUer complain.ns of tho inconvenience of the orike hours ol tho Mount Albert post office was received. It was .decided to again approach the postal authorities on the rtegarding a letter from tho Association, of Superannuated Public Servants regarding tho hy-law controLintt motor traffic, it was decided that no action bo taken. Building permits issued trorn April 7 to 03 were as follows:—3 permits for dwellings, nine £1600: 5 permits for alteration a.nd add.tions, .£195: 1 permit for brick bakehouse, £120: 2 permits for motor garages. £•48.' The uro brigade s report stated that the number of the brigade members had .been increa, ed from 12 to 15, and that the brigade had been placed on a better footing, owing to the recent installation of an electrical fire alarm system. ; ■ The council decided to adopt the sealed pan system of sanitation and to call tenders lor collection. ONEHUNGA BOROUGH COUNCIL. The Onehunga Borough Council *met last evening There wore present Messrs. J. Park (Mayor,. J-.E. Cowell.O. S- Baiter. A. McColl. P. R. Lipscombe. E. Morton. T R, Gilbert. Dr. T. J. Hughes reported that the various analyses of water drawn from the Onebunga springs had shown efficient steril nation. At the same time ho advised the council to take every care in running the Candy filtor. ■ - ,-'. 'Iho council approved of tho appointment of Fireman T. R- Gilbert as captain of the local fire brigade. . Fo'ir tenders wore received for the erection of 90 fire alarm poles. These ranged in price from £310 10s to £1098, tho latter added ''a per yard extra for setting the poles in concrete.' The tender* were referred to committee. , j
