ROCKY NOOK DRAINAGE.
* j TENDER FOR WORK ACCEPTED. Tho question of the drainage of the Rocky Nook area was again before the Mount Albert Borough Council last evening. Mi*. F. E. Powell, consulting engineer to tho borough, reported that tenders for the first portion of the work ' had been received. The estimates for the ! work was £5362. After tenders had been advertised, the report continued, it was found that a manhole in Raleigh Street believed to be a sewer manhole in tho Mount Eden district was in reality a soakhole with manhole .cover. The engineer proposed an extension of the branch bo dealt with as an extra to the contract) at schedule rates. Ten tenders were received for the work. The lowest tender was that of Messrs. Trayes Brothers for £4362 18s 4d, which was accepted. The highest tender was £7103. Mr. Powell was also instructed to proceed with a further sec- . tion of the drainage schema, !
