CAPSIZE OF A BARGE.

— ,» . THIRTY TONS OF LIME LOST. ACCIDENT AT BREASTWORK. The barge Winnie, with 30 tons of lime on board, capsized alongside the Quay Street breastwork, between the Northern Wharf and King's Wharf, at about 6 a.m. yesterday. The capsized craft was towed alongside the Taniwha near by, and righted, being pumped out later by the Harbour Board's firefloafc. The lime, which was from Te Kuiti and was consigned to Matakana, was stacked in bags on deck. Naturally it sank to the bottom of the harbour, and as it would probably be in a heap, thus constituting » danger to shipping, it is understood tho Harbour Board's Priestman dredge will later remove it. The accident was probably due to the barge springing a leak during the night.
