BEACH CARNIVAL AND CONCERT. . Something new in beach carnivals is promised by the Stanley Bay committee, which is organising a beach fair to be held on Saturday, March 11, in aid of the public hall fund, The cretonne dress competition will provide an opportunity for ladies to win a prize, and there will also be an interesting competition for the best article made, from sacking. . There will be interesting swimming events and dinghy races, besides numerous novelties, including a maypole dance by children in fancy dress, a parade of bathing girls, and. original side snows. In the evening an al fresco concert will be given, Oriental illuminations being arranged on a dancing area.
