TO-PAY'S FORECAST. GOVERNMENT REPORT.

The Government meteorologist reported last night as follows:—Present indications are for easterly winds, strong to Rale, northwards of New Plymouth and Napier, and increasing easterly to northerly winds elsewhere. Weather will be cloudy and unsettled with rain following generally and heavy rain in many parts. The barometer is falling.

MR. C. L. WRAGGE'S FORECAST. Tho following weather forecast was supplied to us by Mr. Clement L. Wragge at 7.30 p.m. yesterday :—lndications point to a week-end that should bo marked by generally cloudy and unsettled weather, with vain and a tendency to electrical disturbance. Dirty easterly to northerly weather may be expected with decrease of latitude from a lino joining Napier and New Plymouth under the operation of a large tropical storm named Viola. The Antarctio disturbance Xilion should be tho chief cause of the expected unsettled conditions in the south. There is a likelihood of short intervals of clearing eky within the period. Rough sea.
