OBITUARY.
MR. STANLEY MILROY. PROMINENT BUSINESS MAN, The death occurred at a privati't* pital late on Thursday night of Mr,.'s ■&•> Stanley- Milroy, who for the.lsSfc ■ years has t«n secretary to the Ktol Timber Company, and has been presuß- \ ently associated with the commercial m \ of the city. Mr. .Milroy, who was 62 years of age. came to. Auckland from Australia about 30 years ago, to jointly staff of the Kami Timber Company. He took an active part in the social life of the city, and was for many years a member of the Northern and Auckland' Club}. He was a member of the committee of | the latter institution almost continuously from 1911 until the time of hjs diath, ' and for four years from 1915 was president, besides occupying the position d. vice-president in and 1914. Re alto served a term as president o{ the Auckland Savage Club, and was one.of the founders a.*l original membsrs of. the Auckland Orphans' Club. He was long associated with the Masonic fraternity, among whom' he held high office, fie was a past master of Lodg? Ara, No. 1, sj!.d t was an officer of the Grand Lodge of New Zealand, of which he was P.D.G.M. Be was also connected with the Royal Arch Chapter; Mrs. Milroy died about '17, years ago, and there are no children. Mr. - Milroy had been suffering from heart trouble, but his death came as a shockto hia wida circle of friends. There will be a Masonic funeral, the cortege leaving the Masonic Hall, Princes Street, at , fcoO p.m. on Monday.

MEBEira Mr. Henry Mark Meredith, who .died at Birkenhead, where he had been ls'nng in retirement for the past eight yews, arrived in &• Dominion 87 years ago and engaged in farming, pursuits in the Whangaroi district, He wae born m Bridgenorth, Shropshire, England, years ago. He was very much esteemed, being of s, genial nature. He is wrvwa by three sons-Mr. V. B-, Mere** (Crown Prosecutor at Auckland), atem H. Meredith (of Meredith's Orchostm, Auckland), and Mr. W. He. held the office o auditor to the Upland syndicate Wjg dissolution about two years age. ■*-*?*. retiring from the Civil Service, Mr. Runcie resided in Auckland. He took a great interest in church matters, and was w active member of the Presbyterian Churcn. He war. a member of the Auckland Bowling Club. Gf a kindly and retiring nature, Mr. Runcfo will, be much missed by a. wide circle of friends, He leaves» widow and two daughters, Mrs. Felix Jteliy, Mountain Road, Epsoja, and Miss Girvan Runcie.
