Christmas Day falls on a Sunday this year and many peoplo have been anxious to ascertain what holidays the Government intends shall be observed. Mr. T. D. Burnett (Temuka) asked the Prime Minister to-day what had been decided.

Mr. Massey replied that the Government intended to bring down a short Bill which would not alter the date for the observance of Christmas Day, but which would make the Tuesday a general holiday. Monday being Boxing Day and Tuesday a general holiday, the public would not lose any holiday it usually enjoyed at Christmas.
