The Trades Uni< n Concress debated the rout of living to-day. Mr. J. H. Thomas, 11.P., pointed out that there had been a tremendous drop in the wh ile.sala prices, but owing t-> scandalous profiteering betwi'cn wholesaler and consumer the latter did not ben'-tit. The cost-of-living figures ir,sued bv the Ministry for Labour were not. reliable, though 3.000,000 workers had t.h.-ir wages controlled by them.
