KING'S EMPIRE VETERANS.

The quarterly meeting of the Kings Empire Veterans of Auckland was held yesterday in the Soldiers' Club, Major John Grant presiding. It was decided to hold a parade of veterans at the Town Hall on Anzac Day and on the King's Birthday. The hon. secretary, Capt. Jas. Stichbury, reported that he had recently visited the Veterans' Home at Botan'v Bay, Sydney, and that he had been surprised to find only six inmates of the institution. Three "of these, he said, had the New Zealand Maori War ribbon, one of whom was 95 years old and yet was hale and hearty.
