This proposal received the endorsement of several speakers, but it was decided to forward the motion to •>. the Management Committee for the purjKW of irawing up a detailed report, the scheme STolyod to be circulated among unions for consideration before being ■ adopted.i ';->-■ ■ Captain T. Mr. Sievers seconded the motion, which *aa defeated, j ■ ' It was decided that the school grant for .he 1930 season be increased to £300. Wray (re-elected), > Trw Motueka and Golden Bay sub-unions ipplied for permission to register as a separata Rugov -Union, to be called the Bays. Union. The Nelson Union - wrote sup-sorting-the application,' which was, granted. K - proviso was attached that the ' name of the new union would have to bo approved by -the New Zealand Rugby Union's Manigement Committee. Permission was given or affiliation %of the Whangarei Rugby Union. Application for affiliation or a Wain Trunk union with headquarters .at raihape was referred, back for consideration by ■* various - sub-ui.iohs . concerned. ■ Mr. Wylie moved:—" That the Manago-. meat Committee- be directed to inauiro as to whether any union is playing under rules which have not bsen '• approved by> this anion." He said.ho was not animated by any -. feeling of personal animus, but they all knew that certain things were going on, sad it was for the Management Committee to. take action if Urn rules were being infringed. ' X V. - l ■'"■■' "? ■'■"^\ *'*•■", Mr. N. R. ; Jones (Auckland) denied that the Auckland , Union was playing any unauthorised rules. The motion was cirried. «Ii was decided to leave the venue of the North and South Jsli<nd nMch in the hands of the Management Committee. It was also resolved to direct the Management Committee to accept a tour from South Africa next year.
