Especially praiseworthy, is his endeavour to place the grading of teachers on a more satisfactory basis. It is to bo hoped that the Auckland Educational Institute will,, when selecting repre-. sentatives for the forthcoming conference with the Minister, give both town and country teachers equal representation, The latter, ■ especially still labour under gnevous disadvantages, and it is only a matter of justice that their viuws should be placed before the conference.
