NEW PLYMOUTH RESOLUTIONS.
FEEDING IN PALMERSTON. DEMAND FOR A HEARING. SYMPATHY WITH STRIKERS, [by telegraph!—tress association.] PALMERSTON NORTH. Wednesday. At. a meeting of members of the Manawatu section of the Post and Telegraph Officers' .Association, which was marked throughout with enthusiasm, the following resolutions* were carried unanimously: " That the Ministry be given 24 hours' notice to meet our executive, and further, in the uvent of our demands being sidestopped, that stop-work meetings be called throughout the service to decide on further action.'' It was resolved to request the executive to demand that all soldier members of the service be placed on the same footing as regards half-pay. The meeting also resolved to support the railway employees in their " struggle f<--r justice" and to offer its support. "° The meeting closed with cheers for the railway men. i
DEMAND FOR INTERVIEW. [bt telbg rath, —press association.] NEW PLYMOUTH.' Wednesday. At a record meeting of the New Plymouth branch of the Post and Telegraph Officers' Association this evening, a resolution was passed calling upon the executive to demand immediately an interview with the Prime Minister "and the Post-master-General in connection with the rate of pay allotted, and that in the event of » refusal, stop-work meetings be held throughout the Dominion. The sympathy of the meeting was also expressed with the railwaymea "in their fight for justice and reasonable remuneration." In consequence of the result of the Chief Justice's inquiry with regard to the late Postmaster-General's promise of a war v onus not having been received, a stronglyworded resolution is being forwarded for transmission to the Cabinet. A resolution was also passed requesting the executive to summon immediately a I conference to discuss the present position, of the service. j
