THE PRINCE'S TOUR

* EFFECT OF THE STRIKE.

CURTAILMENT ' POSSIBLE.

MAY RETURN TO AUCKLAND.

r BY TELECBArn.— REPORTER.]

1 ROTORUA. Tuesday. The strike of railway-men will not tie permitted to interfere with the Prince'stour, e'en though it may cause a curtailment. Should the situation reach a deadlock, the Prince will" return to Auckland and board the Renown, which will probably leave Auckland on Sunday night, and the party will reach Wellington on Monday night in accordance with' schedule. The tour from Picton right through the South Island could be done by motor-car, should the trouble spread there. Consequently, the only result would be that the interior of the North Island—Taranaki, Wangahui, and Hawke's Bay—would be omitted from the tour. There -would be absolutely no chan< e of a return to any of those places.
