THE ASSOCIATION; GAME. THE management COMMITTEE, The management committee of the Auckland Footbal. Association met on Tuesday evening Mr. E. J. Ritson presiding. It was decided to commence the senior competition on Saturday and tbo oth<ir divisions en May 8. North Shore. North Shore No. 1. SWIMMING. DEYONPORT CLUB'S GALA. - ' The Devonport Swimming Club's second gala;- to be held at the Tepid Baths tomorrow evening,, promises to be a great success. Excellent entries have been received and good contest* should be witnessed. Miss Violet Walrond. champion lady swimmer of the Dominion, has entered "in the 75yds ladies' inter-club handicap. HOCKEY. AUCKLAND ASSOCIATION. The Management .Committee of the Auckland Hockey Association met last evening, Mr. L. C. Kent presiding. It was decided to send a team to Franklin on May 22. Arrangements were completed for the championship matches, which commence on Saturday. GOLF. AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB. The members of the Auckland Ladies' Golf Club will play the second round of the Hope Lewis Bowl competition on Friday. The following is the draw: Miss P. Macfarlane plays Miss M. Alison. Miss K. At the annual meeting of the New Zealand Boxing Council the New Zealand championships were allotted to the Hawke'a Bay Association. The Greymouth Association wrote recommending the reinstatement of D. Monday. The application was granted. The Taranaki. Waipawa and Hokitika Associations applied for affiliation. The applications were granted. Mr. W. F. Corbett. of Sydney, wrote that he would consent to act as the council's representative in the matter of engaging suitable boxers to compete in Xew Zealand. The new president of the council is to be nominated by the Hawke's Bay Association. " OLYMPIC GAMES. SPORTS NEXT SATURDAY. \ . The Auckland Olympic Committee met last evening. It was reported that . the Rugby Union championship game. University v. Grafton, the Rugby .League championship gaane, ponsonby United v. Maris* Brothers Old Boys, and the Association representative game, Auckland v. H.M.S. Renown, would be played at the.
