EMPIRE'S CURRENCIES.
NEED FOR SINGLE BASIS. (Received' 10.5 p.m.) Press Association. LONDON, April 26. In the House of Commons, replying to a question regarding the East African currency, Mr. L. C. M. S. Amery, UnderSecretary of State for the Colonies, regretted the absence of a single and permanent basis of exchange within the Empire, which would immensely help interimperial trade. He hoped that it would be possible to secure such a growth of interest in this connection all over the Em-ire, as finally to lead to practical results. The incoherence of the present exchange had mopt serious results.
