EMPIRE COMMUNICATIONS.

NEED FOR MORE CABLES. .

SIR J." COOK'S VIEW. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 12.30 a.m.) SYDNEY. Dec. 23. The matter of Empire communications was daily becoming more imperative, and it was high time that a forward movement was begun. Mr. Lloyd George, in answer to a question in the House of Commons, said that the Imperial Telegraph Communications Board had considered but had not reached a decision regarding the duplication of"the Pacific cable and the construction of an Atlantic cable to connect with the Pacific.
