VICTORIA CRUISING CLUB.

RACE TO AWAROA BAY.

The Victoria Cruising Club will hold a cruising race to Awaroa Bay, Waiheke, for yachts and launches- this afternoon. The course is from starting line, between flagship and markboat moored nortlioff the Reclamation wall in Freeman's Bay— thence direct to Awaroa Bay, keeping outside Sandspit beacon, Bean Rock Lighthouse, and the beacon off Brown's Island, finishing between the wharf and markboat and Eastern Point of Awaroa Bay. The race for launches will start at 2.30 p.m., and that for the yachts at 2.45 p.m. The entries and handicaps for the yacht race are as follows: —

Class L : Speedwell, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; Gloriana, 15m, Bmj Zealandia 30m, 4m.

Class IL : Cek>x, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; Sadie, scr, scr; Omatere, sm, 3m; Zoe 25m, 10m. Class III.: Marie, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; Gladys, 2£m, 5m ; Rehutai, 2im, sm; Lucille, 3£m, 7m ; Venus, sm, s|m ; Doreen, 9m, 84m. Class IV.: Ngaro, on the,wind scr, off the wind scr; Waikere, 2m, scr; Ngaru, 9m, 6m. In addition to'the class races, the club will hold a general handicap for. the Mackay Memorial Shield. The entries and handicaps for this event are Speedwell, on the wind scr, off the wind scr; Celox, scr, scr; Sadie, lm, lm; Omatere, 6m, 4m; Marie, 15m, 3m; Zealandia, 30m, 4m; Gloriana, 15m, 8m; Zoe, 18m, 10m; Gladys S., 20m, 8m; Rehutai, 20m, 8m; Lucille, 25m, 11m ; Venus, 26m, 10m; Doreen, 26m, 13m; Ngaro, 35m, 15m; Waihere, 36m, 15m ; Ngaru, 45m, 20m. The entries, for the launch . race are — Ethel W, Countess, Phyllis, , Florence, Imanota, and Jean Gray. The handicaps will be declared this , morning. All boats will be inspected after the race, and any failing to report for inspection will be disqualified. A dance will be held in Gordon's Hall, Awaroa Bay, .this evening.
