The state of the elections to the Federal House of Representatives is now :~ Nationalists 30 Labour ... ... ... 20 Farmers ~ » 4 Doubtful 21 The counting of the first preference in the Senate votes is not expected to be completed until Saturday week, when a start will be made with the final scrutiny. The defeat of Mr, P. M. Glynn, Minister for Home and Territories, appears to be certain. The return of Mr. L. E. Groom, Minister tor Public Works and Railways, appears to be assured. The referenda returns are far from complete. So far the figures are : — On the question of extending the legislative powers of the Commonwealth Government: — Yes: 723,234. No : 752,838. On the question of increased powers to deal with monopolies — Yes: 635,001. No : 694,242. ,
