RIVAL FORCES STIRRING.
A NEW PARTY POSSIBLE. a. and N.Z. '*• WASHINGTON. Dec 17.
The forces are beginning to liven op for next year's presidential elections. Mr. Hiram Johnston has entered the ring for the Republican nomination. Mr. J. W. Gerard, former Ambassador to Germany, has declared he will not seek nomination by the Democrats if Mr. Wilson Stands for a third/ term, but few people expect Mr. Wilson's health will allow him to continue in. politics. The general impression is that he fir ill never resume the strenuous life.
A third party is likely to enter the sontest under the title of-Liberals.
