FATAL STREET ACCIDENT.

♦ — LITTLE GIRL KILLED. _—— < RUN OVER BY MOTOR LORRY. [BT TELEGRAPH. — ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Thursday. A fatal motor accident, resulting in the death of a girl 13 years of age, daughter of Mr. H. W. Lawton, of the Agricultural Department's staff, occurred in Cuba Street this afternoon. As far as can be gathered an Army Service Corps motor-lorry was proceeding down the street when the little girl stepped off the footpath to cross the road. She had almost passed in front of the lorry, which was travelling at about four to five miles an hour, when she stepped back, and was knocked down and killed by a wheel passing over her body.
