NEW OFFICIALS ON THE WAY. RADICAL ELEMENTS THEE AT. TO BOYCOTT COMMISSION. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received 11.30 p.m.) A., and N.Z. MELBOURNE, Nov. 27. The Federal Government is determined to suppress any further demonstrations against officials in the Northern Territory. Mr. Staniforth Smith, the new Deputy-Administrator, and other recentlyappointed officers, together with a new mounted patrol of 30 men, are expected to reach Darwin on Saturday. The cruiser Brisbane is remaining in the event of further outbreaks, the Labour element having expressed its intention to boycott the Commission, whose arrival is expected to be a signal for a fresh outburst. Mr. Justice Ewing has been appointed by the Federal Government to inquire into the causes which brought about the recent revolutionary happenings in Darwin, culminating in the practical deportation from the Northern .territory cf the Director, Mr. H. E. Carey, the Government Secretary, Mr. Evans, and the Judge of the Supreme Court, Judge Bevan. Mr. Justice lEwing is now on his way to Darwin after having taken the evidence of Mr. Carey, Mr, Evans, and Judge Bevan at Melbourne. Mr. Staniforth Smith, who ha s been appointed Deputy-Administrator of the Northern Territory, was formerly Commissioner of Lands in Papua.
