i CHARGE AGAINST MR. JOLLY I DISMISSED BY ASSEMBLY. I [BY TELEKF.APH. OWN' COB.RESPON-DENT.] INVERCARGILL. Thursday. I A charge of teaching contrary to th( ' doctrine of the Presbyterian Church o : New Zealand was made against the Rev Isaac Jolly, of Auckland, by the Rev B Hutson, of Brooklyn, at the Presby terian Assembly last night. Mr. Hutson took exception to certaii statements in a book recently publishe< by Mr. Jo'ly and said if Mr. Jolly wa right the church was wrong. Answering Mr. Hutson's charge, Mi Jolly pointed out that the church had n doctrine of inspiration. In conclusion he asked that Mr. Hutson be censure for bringing the charge. Dr. Gibb moved " That there was n charge to answer." This was carried b 111 votes to two.
