MANGAPIKO WATERSHED.

DRAINAGE BOARD'S CONFERENCE. A conference of drainage boards operating in the watershed of the Mangapiko River was held at Te Awamutu to consider amalgamation. The Lower Mangapiko. Upper Mangapiko. Mangahoe, Tua-tua-moana. and Ohanpo sent representatives. Consideration was given to the assets and liabilities of the several hoards, and also as to the responsibility of those who operated upstream to contribute towards keeping the watercourse free in the lower reaches for the liberation of their flood waters. A return indicating the position of each board is to be prepared, and further consideration given the pronosed amalgamation at a later date.
