GREEK KING'S ROMANCE.
ADMIRATION FOR AMERICAN.
POSSIBILITY OF A MARRIAGE.
Romance has pouched in democratic fashion the heart of the young King Alexander of Greece.
The young monarch, who succeeded his deposed father, Constantino, is said to show open admiration for a young IrishAmerican girl from Chicago called Mi. Josephine Kelly, whose uncle is a New York hotel proprietor.
Miss Kelly went to Greece last November with the American Red Cross, and «is described as very attractive, with blue eyes and coal black hair. In social and sporting accomplishments she is of allround efficiency.
The king is said to have met her while having tea at the house of one of the members of his court. She and her friends were shortly afterwards asked to luncheon at the royal country house at Tatoi, near Athens. Motoring excursions to picturesque and historical places followed.
Finally, at a ball given at the Royal Theatre, the king left the corner of the room where he was receiving the respects of the court and crossed the floor to talk
with Miss Kelly—a break with regular royal procedure which caused astonishment. This rose to still greater heights when he asked Miss Kelly to join the royal party in a bos at a masked ball. Speculation is said to be active as to whether King Alexander, whose impati eriee with monarchical restrictions is well known, mav be about to offer to share his throne with an American girl.
