, DEATH OF OLD COLONIST. [BI TELEGRAPH.— COERESI'O.VDE.VT.] WHANG ASEI. Friday. Mr. James Peat, of Kaino, died late I last night. He was s,n eld settler, 79 ! years of age, and came to New Zealand from Scotland at the age of 20 years. WEST COAST PIONEER. [UT TELEGBAPH.—PRES3 ASSOCIATION.) GREYMOUTH. Friday. Mr. Duncan McLean, merchant, a West Coast pioneer, died at Greymouth this i morning, aged 85 years. He" was one of the contractors for the Midland Railway, I with the late Mr. Joseph Jay. Eis wife ' predeceased him by a few weeks.
