ASSOCIATION'S ACTIVITIES. I 2SINE CLASSES IX ACTCKLAKD The activities of the Workers' Educational Association during the past year are commented upon in the annual report of the Auckland University College Council, presented yesterday. The report states that nine tutorial classes were conducted for a full session, one completed a brief session its arranged, and an additional one was started "in the. middle of the year. Of these classes nine were held in the city and .suburbs, one in Hamilton, and one in Whangarei. Seven were devoted to economics, one to psychology, one to hygiene, one to chairmanship, and one to a literary and debating course Two classes were in their fourth year, by special arrangement; three completed^the i regulation three-year comae; two -were j in their second year, and four in their j first. " Nothing but lack of funds can i check the progress of 'this university ex- | tension work in the district," the report stated, - and representations have been made to the Government on the matter." The chairman. Mr. T. W. Levs, reterring briefly to the matter, said:"—"We will have to spend a great deal more money in these workers' educational classes. But we must have an organiser who can .see that this money is property .spent. If we aro to make "this work a success and to extend university educa tion to ;iil classes, we mtt-st enlarge our work. And there is plenty of room for it."
