BUSINESS DONE YESTERDAY.

The sluio market was: active yesterday. In investment lines business was reported in New Zealand War Loans. 1938, at £96 10s. In insurances New Zealands were still wanted at £13 13s. sellers asking £13 17s 6d. For South British .£7 lfis fid was offered, tellers £8 4s. In coals, a sale was reported in Northerns (10s paid) at 8.. Waipas wero asked for at 12s Gd. sellers 15s fid. In gas. Auckland sold at 275. In shipping, Huddart-Parkcrs wero done at 435, after a reported sale at 42a Cd, tellers closing firmer at 445, buyers at 43.«. Buyers of P. and O. (deferred stock) made a sharp advance from £410 to £425, no sellers quoting. In woollens, business was reported in Kaiapois (pref.) at £7. In miscellaneous lines Auckland Tramways sold at 01s lid. and a transaction was reported in S. K. Maxwell and Co.'a at 32s Gd. lu mining, recent rates ruled. I
