Herr Schiederaann, Noske, David, and Erzberger favour im- 1 mediate acceptance of the terms in order to begin reconstruction, but Count Brockdorff-Rantzau desires , to contest every point, and be as ; defiant as Germany dares, finally if j necessary refusing to sign peace. Ap- 1 parently Schiedemann has been vic- j torious. j Tho Daily Mail reports that the i German delegates have been author- ' ised to break off negotiations with j the Allies if they insist on the inde- : pendence of the Rhine province. j Germany's payment for foodstuffs will be made by means of credits in neutral countries and certain per- ; mitted exports, including coal and ! timber, and sums earned by the sur-, rendered ships. Germany immedi- ' ately pays £18,000,000 to the National Rank of Belgium as a guarantee, j The gold reserve of £100.000,000 remains available for reparation pur- j poses. The ships will be worked , tinder an inter-allied board with (.he assistance of one German delegate. : Portions of the German crews will bo retained, excent where used for . transporting troops. J
