HIGH FREIGHT CHARGES.

REDUCTION OF RATES URGED. [by telegraph.—phess association.] DUNEDIN, Monday. Freight charges were considered at a meeting of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce to-night. The president, Mr. J. B. Waters, introduced the matter of the high freights now ruling between the Dominion and England. After a discussion, the president was authorised to draft a letter to the various chambers throughout New Zealand urging combined action with a view of ascertaining the possibility of obtaining a reduction both of inward and outward freights.
