REMUERA GARDEN PARTY.
. Y.M.O.A. ALTERATIONS. A successful 'garden party and sale of work, organised; by the women's auxiliary of the Young Men's Christian Association, to raise funds for renovating the" / portion of the Y.M.C.A. building now used as a soldier's club was held in the grounds of Mrs. 0.0. Wilson's residence, Uplands Road, Remuera, on Saturday afternoon. The bright gardens, dotted- at intervals ■with gaily-decorated stalls, made a' charming picture. A largo number of guests from the city were present. In opening the function the, Mayoress, Mrs. J. H. Gunson, said > that_ although the association had been in existence in. Auckland for 63 years, it was not until recently, that the assistance of the ladies .of the community had'been solicited.' They were, however, .only too glad to assist an institution which -had done so much for the good of the community.
