C. I H. Garland, principal of the Methodist Theological College, and minister of this, church at the tamo of his death, November I 3- 1918 " ~- ~ t I Speaking in reference to this, Mr. Laws paid a feeling tribute to the late Mr. Garland's many excellent qualities, both as a man, a minister of the Church, and a citizen. Ho was one who took a broad view of the questions of the day, not only those related to the Church, but also of all matters concerning the well-being of society. He knew Mr. Garland as a sympathetic friend, wise in counsel, and one whom they could ill afford to lose at the preFPiit time, when there were so many difficult problems pressing for a solution.
