Business in the fruit and produce markets has been fairly good during the week. Consignments have consisted chiefly of apples and pears, both cooking and dessert. Prices tor best Quality of both lines are well maintained, jstone fruit is getting scarce. Toraa'pes are in good supply. Lemons are scarce. Fiji Bananas: A small line reached tho market by tho Mokoia, and tho fruit was more or less in an over-ripe conditio:*. Fair ther arrivals are due next week. There is an excellent demand for groen fruit. Pototoos are in good supply at quotations. No Southorns are yet to hand. Onions are plentiful, and weaker in prico. Early shipments aro expected from Canterbury. Poultry. Best Quality in short supply. Moulty and poor birds are lower in price. Fresh eggs are scarce and firm in price. PROPERTy SALES, UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS SOLD. The old buildings recently vaoated by the University College situated at tho corner of Eden and Parliament Streets, were offered for sale by suction for romoval yesterday by Samuel Vaile and Sons, Ltd., under instructions from the Auckland City Council. Tho buildings were offered in four lots, and realised a total of £575. The biddinc was brisk. A block of four cottages in George Street, Pamell, was »ho so'd for' £l2os, and two sections, each 52ft by 150 ft, fronting Edondalo Road, realised 83s 6d a foot.
