MARIST OLD BOYS' CLUB.
SPORTS AT MOTUTAPU,
A sports meeting and picnic for numbers of the Marist Old Boys' Football Club and returned soldier members was held at Motutapu yesterday, about eighty men competing. Weather conditions were excellent and tho trip to Motutapu was most pleasant, the footballers livening proceedings with rollicking choruses. The athletic sports were commenced early in the afternoon, and the entrants wore a likely lot. The well-known footballers among them were in tho various running events. Maurice O'Connor, who last season bore the brunt of the forward work of the Old Boys' team, won the quarter-mile in tine form, with L. Oilpan. oarsman and footballer r«cond. T"" younger players, too, were enthusiastic, and in the fourth grade teams relay, iSrodie. i-.i1..e, Loft and Kelly came in for the honours, Kelly doing good work. T. Prenderga-st made a fine showing in the consolation sprint, with McNamar-a a good second. Results aro: — IOOYds.-11. Culpan, 1; Loft, 2; P. O'Connor, 3.
