PRISONERS' AID SOCIETY.
The quarterly meeting of tho Discharged Prisoners' Aid Society was held on Friday, Dr. A. W. Averill, Anglican Bishop of Auckland, in the chair. The report showed that a considerable number ol dischargees had been assisted during the, last three months. The hon. secretary, the Rev. E. C. Budd, brought up the question of providing Rome little extras for the prisoners at the Christmas season. A small grant was made for tho female division, Adjutant Davis, of the Salvation Array, promising— departmental permission—to give the men some additions to the dietary scale. An entertainment is to he given on Boxing Day.
