BOMBS DROPPED AND MACHINE-GUNS USED ON TROOPS Australian and N.l and Reuter. LONDON, Jan. 30. Sir Douglas Haig reports: Hostile artillery is active at Arras and Ypres. Our aeroplanes yesterday dropped 400 bombs' on Routers and Menin, and on an aerodrome near Tournai. they also fired several thousand rounds on enemy troops. Air fighting was continuous all day. Last night we dropped six tons and a-half of bombs on billets, a railway station, and on trains, and two night flying aerodromes near' Ghent and Tournai. All our machines returned. The Admiralty reports a successful naval air raid on the Coolkerke aerodrome. Sir Douglas Haig further reports successful patrol encounters to the north-east of Havrincourt and Bullecourt.
