LOSSES BY SUBMARINES.

FIFTEEN VESSELS SUNK. NINE OVER 1600 TONS. (Received 10 p.m.) A. and N.Z.-Reutcr. LONDON, Jan. 30. A British Admiralty report on the submarine campaign during the week ended January 26, gives the following figures, those in the last report being given in parentheses. The returns are now issued for the week ending midnight on Saturday. The figures givo the arrivals and sailings of merchant vessels of all nationalities, ovor 100 tons net, .at and from United Kingdom ports, exclusive of fishing and local craft, and the number of British merchant vessels sunk by mines or submarine, and unsuccessfully attacked by submarines:—

Arrivals 2,862 (2,255) Sailings 2.300 (2,243) Bunk over 1600 tons .. 9 (6) Sunk under 1600 tons .. 6 (21 Unmiccessfnlly attacked 8 (6) Fishing boats sunk .. 1 (— The following table shows the weekly avorages for the past ten months of British shipping destroyed and attacked but not actually sunk. The figures in parentheses indicate the number of weeks included in each monthly period.
