REVOLUTIONARY ACTIVITIES ITALIANS GAIN WORE GROUND CIVIL WARFARE IN FINLAND The strike movement in Germany is "rapidly developing. It is estimated that there are now 750,000 strikers in Berlin. Their demands include peace without annexations or indent nities. A workmen's council which has been formed in Berlin has been joined by the prominent Socialist leaders, while Bolshevik pamphlets'are being circulated in the factories. Some of the pamphlets issued by the Independent Socialists call upon the people to rise in revolution. The use of machineguns where necessary against the strikers has been authorised by the Government. A semi-official report admits a strike at Krupps, but states that it is not important. The continued Italian offensive .on the Asiago Plateau has resulted in the capture of three strong points. Two enemy * divisions were almost completely destroyed on Tuesday. The Italians have captured 100 officers, 2500 men, Six guns, 100 machine-guns, and large quantities of small arms. As-the result of the operations the whole line has been much improved. As a result of the revolutionary action in Finland, the Government has left the capital. A great army is concentrating to resist the revolution, while a delegation is appealing to Sweden for military aid against the Red Guards. The Swedish frontier has been closed. The Red Guards have been defeated in the north, but are the masters of South Finland. Further important successes against the Ukrainians are claimed by the Bolsheviks, who report the capture of many towns in the south.
